About KKM

Kalyani Kala Mandir welcomes you to be a part of its extraordinary journey, where tradition meets innovation and artistry knows no bounds. Whether you are an enthusiast, an aspiring artist, a parent looking for a dance class, music or nattuvangam for your child, or a patron of arts, we invite you to explore our performances, join our classes, witness our Arangetrams, undertake our workshops and become a part of the legacy of Kalyani Kala Mandir. KKM is associated with the World University of Design, Sonepat offering opportunities to the students to pursue Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in performing arts.

Kalyani Kala Mandir, a classical dance institution was established in April 2002, by Guru Rashmi Khanna, with the mission of preserving and promoting the traditional and classical dance forms of India. We aim to generate awareness and interest among the younger generation towards the legacy of India’s music and dance and to serve as a platform for young and aspiring dancers to exhibit their talents.

Kalyani Kala Mandir regularly stages annual presentations of Bharatnatyam by its students titled “Prerna Utsav” since 2003. Our students have also successfully showcased fusion of classical, semi-classical, folk and western dance through the medium of different styles of music in our various productions over the years. Another series called ‘Abhyuday’ is also staged annually since 2017 for showcasing the artistry and brilliance of our senior disciples.

Kalyani Kala Mandir has organized productions celebrating the choreographies of the legendary Guru Padmashree Shri K.N. Dandayudhapanipillai. We have also presented the works of Rabindra Nath Tagore, Kazi Nazrul Islam and many famous composers of India like Tulsidas, Sant Kabir, Swati Tirunaal and others.

We have celebrated successful culmination of 14 Arangetrams, or solo debut performances, a rite of passage that transforms dedicated learners into radiant performers. These milestones embody the spirit of dedication, resilience and mastery of the dancer.

Rashmi Khanna is also a member of the International Dance Council, CID, at UNESCO.
Kalyani Kala Mandir maintains a Scholarship Scheme which identifies and rewards some of our high achieving students in terms of their technique, skill, performance, improvement and regularity and grants them scholarships every year.
